Chef Mario Gentile’s winter storm recipe with bread, milk and eggs


STATEN ISLAND N.Y. — With Winter Storm Jonas set to dump about a foot of snow on Staten Island, it’s the perfect time to get creative in the kitchen with your stock of bread, milk and eggs hoarded from the grocery store.

Now, if you ask Senior Opinion Writer Tom Wrobleski what can be done with all the bread, milk and eggs folks so ravenously stock up on when a snow storm comes, he’ll say there’s nothing better than french toast.

Chef Mario Gentile of Mario’s Italian restaurant in Dongan Hills was tasked with taking the popular breakfast ingredients and making a culinary comfort food for the impending blizzard.
